Broncos QB Drew Lock questionable to return against 49ers

Broncos rookie quarterback Drew Lock fell on his right hand and appeared to suffer a thumb injury in the second half of a preseason game against the 49ers on Monday evening.

Lock left the field and went into the locker room to have his hand examined by the team’s medical staff. Denver announced that the quarterback is questionable to return.

Before his injury, Lock went 7-of-12 passing for 40 yards and rushed twice for 11 yards.

Elsewhere on the Broncos’ injury front, rookie tight end Noah Fant has been ruled out with a foot injury and linebacker Joe Dineen is doubtful to return with a hand injury. Denver trails San Francisco 10-9 in the third quarter.
