Broncos propose 2 instant replay review rule changes

Denver Broncos general manager John Elway has said he is opposed to making pass interference a reviewable play but he’s apparently not opposed to making some other changes to instant replay reviews.

In addition to proposing an alternative to onside kick attempts, the Broncos have also proposed two other rule changes.

Denver would like to “to amend Rule 15, Section 2, to add all fourth down plays that are spotted short of the line to gain or goal line to be subject to automatic review in the instant replay system,” the league announced Friday.

The Broncos would also like to “amend Rule 15, Section 2, to add all Try attempts (Extra point or Two-point conversion) to be subject to automatic review in the instant replay system.”

Denver’s 4th-and-15 in the place of an onside kick rule may be a longshot to get approved. These two replay rule changes may have a better chance of getting approved by the league.
