Earlier this year, singer-artist Britney Spears had hinted at writing a book on Instagram-- she had posted a picture of a typewriter with the caption “Shall I start from THE BEGINNING???”. And now, the news is that Spears has signed a book deal worth $15 million with publisher Simon & Schuster in the United States.
'The deal comes after a bidding war from multiple publishers over her book, according to one insider, who claimed, “the deal is one of the biggest of all time, behind the Obamas,”' reads a report by Page Six. It's noted that former US President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle Obama had signed their book deals worth $65 million with Penguin Random House in 2017.
For 13 years, Britney was living under her father Jamie Spears' conservatorship-- a kind of legal guardianship through which her father had control over her career and life decisions. It was finally ended by a Los Angeles Superior Court judge on November 21, 2021. Soon after on her 40tth birthday in September 2021, Britney got engaged to her long-time boyfriend Sam Asghari. And now, she is all set to tell her story in her own words in a tell-all memoir.
More details about Britney Spears' memoir are awaited.
Meanwhile, Britney's younger sister Jamie Lynn published her book titled 'Things I Should Have Said' in January 2022. Britney had been vocal about calling out her sister Jamie publicly for writing lies about her in the book.
