Britney Spears had 'awkward' time with James Corden while filming Carpool Karaoke

Britney Spears has claimed she felt "so awkward" while filming with James Corden for her appearance on Carpool Karaoke.

The Princess of Pop, 40, took part in the segment for the Late Late Show back in 2016 and was mocked on social media for allegedly miming along to her songs.

Britney herself seemed embarrassed the experience and even became annoyed with the 44-year-old talk show host for playing some of her songs including Baby One More Time and Oops!…I Did It Again.

"It was a little awkward, like, driving by grocery stores. People walk by and there are like 18 cameras around us.

"This is just so awkward," Britney said in a resurfaced interview with radio station 103.5 WKTU.

She added: "Sometimes I got on to him and said, 'I don't want to hear that song again'. They probably didn't show that part."

"Oh my God, and he kept playing them! He put a damn wig on for it. Yeah I totally went along with it," she added, with James having dressed up in a school uniform and blonde pigtails.

Britney was said to have enjoyed the experience, however, with a source telling Capital FM: "Britney did enjoy herself on the show and she wasn't being negative."

James has come under fire recently after he was briefly banned from popular New York restaurant Balthazar by owner Keith McNally for "yelling like crazy" at staff.

James is said to have taken issue with an omelette which was served to his wife Julia.

Keith previously said the Gavin and Stacey writer was a "gifted comedian" but a "cretin of a man" in a now-viral online rant, with James owning up to his mistake on Monday.

Speaking on The Late Late Show, James said: "Because I didn't shout or scream, I didn't get up out of my seat, I didn't call anyone names or use derogatory language, I've been walking around thinking that I haven't done anything wrong.

"But the truth is I have made a rude, rude comment. And it was wrong. It was an unnecessary comment, it was ungracious to the server."
