Britney Spears' debut art exhibition to take place in France

Artwork by popstar Britney Spears will go on display at a gallery in southwest France, it has been announced.

Galerie Sympa, in the village of Figeac, revealed it would host Spears’s debut solo show in its contemporary art gallery on 18 January.

The show is titled Sometimes You Just Gotta Play!!!!! in reference to the caption Spears used on a viral Instagram video of herself painting.

The gallery’s website does not offer any further details about the exhibition. Fans are speculating whether the exhibition involves Spears or if it just features the work she has posted on social media.

Spears donated her most recognisable paintings, of flowers and swirls in pastel colours, to a Las Vegas charity auction in 2017, where it was sold for $10,000 (£7,708).

Spears apparently said of her work at the time: “The flowers in my painting represent a new beginning, and it’s in that spirit that we move forward.”
