Britain's Got Talent's Nabil Abdulrashid slams critics with scathing digs after Ofcom complaints

Britain's Got Talent's Nabil Abdulrashid took aim at his critics in defiant and savage fashion during Saturday's final.

The stand-up comedian, Alesha Dixon's Golden Buzzer Act for this year, made it through to the final after getting the judges' vote in the fifth and last semi last week.

His victory, which saw him crack jokes on race, religion and people wearing face masks, was not without its controversy, with Ofcom receiving close to 900 complaints about the episode, the majority in relation to Nabil's routine.

But addressing his critics head on in the Britain' Got Talent final, Nabil began his performance by saying: "I'm glad we're here, I thought we wouldn't make it..a lot of complaints! A lot of complaints.

"They complain because we say Black Lives Matter. Thousands of complaints, to be honest with you, I'm shocked that many of them know how to write.

"They sent in thousands of angry letters and if I annoy them today, they can progress onto words!"

Moving onto the Ofcom complaints, Nabil, who this week revealed he'd received death threats, continued: "They were all complaints about me, that's what upset me.

"What did I say to offend anyone? You think I came out here and said something really inflammatory...like Winston Churchill is black..by the way he was."

"And if you don't believe me...when was the last time you met a white man named Winston? Want proof...what colour is his statue?"

Nabil also mentioned ITV supporting Diversity over their BLM routine which sparked over 24,000 Ofcom complaints.

He said: "I would have done it differently. I would have sent an email to everyone who complained and say 'we understand you viewers are offended but ALL viewers matter."
