The Russian Arianespace Soyuz rocket was launched carrying 34 satellites owned by the British internet operator OneWeb aimed at providing high-speed internet around the globe.
The mission lifted off from Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan on Saturday, according to a statement by the Russian space agency Roscosmos.
This is the fifth satellite launch mission executed by OneWeb this year, as part of its project that debuted on July 1.
The latest launch brings the company's total in-orbit constellation satellites to 288, according to AFP.
State-run OneWeb plans to operate a high-quality internet network consisting of 650 satellites by the end of 2022, in partnership with Indian firm Bharti.
According to a contract signed with the European firm Arianespace in September 2020, OneWeb plans 16 launches of Soyuz rocket between December 2020 and late 2022 to deploy the full network.
