Hovering drones have buzzed into a list of Brits’ top 10 noise nuisances for the first time.
The devices have been named among the UK’s most irritating summer sounds, along with ice cream van chimes and even loud birds.
Electronic gadgets such as car alarms, jet washers and blaring TVs are also among our biggest bugbears.
A list compiled following a Sunday Mirror survey of 23 local councils is topped by parties and barbecues, barking dogs and DIY.
Authorities across the country also recorded gripes about music, garden tools, alarms, hot tubs and the din made by kids using trampolines or other play equipment. But the growing popularity of drones has sparked a surge of complaints.
Coventry city council has threatened to ban them from parks and open spaces altogether, while officials in Derby are investigating complaints about them being flown over homes.

A more unusual source of concern was the noise made by birds including parrots and peacocks – with even a squawking budgie reported in Reading, Berks.
Crowing cockerels were also the cause of anger as far apart as Kent and Cheshire.
The Noise Abatement Society said half of 300,000 complaints last year were made during the summer.
Tamara Sandoul, of the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health, said: “Noise has a strong impact on people’s lives and wellbeing.”
