Bristol weather: Met Office's danger warning for two days of fog

A thick layer of fog is set to cause disruption across Bristol once again this week.

Experts at the Met Office have issued a yellow weather warning predicting two days of travel chaos, starting from 7pm tonight until midday tomorrow.

Longer journey times and possible hazardous driving conditions are likely, with delays to bus and train services also possible.

A spokeswoman for the Met Office said: "Areas of fog, some of it dense and freezing, will develop during Monday evening and overnight, persisting into Tuesday morning in places.

"Visibility may dip below 100 metres in some locations.

"Fog will tend to lift into low cloud in many areas on Tuesday, though a few spots may stay foggy into the afternoon."

Temperatures are set to plunge this week, with some areas expected to see -2°C. By Friday, snow could fall in parts of Yorkshire and Wales, but Bristol will escape the worst of the cold snap.
