Bristol Rovers player ratings as Gas are held by Northampton Town after Baldwin mistake

Anssi Jaakkola - 6

Made one smart save in the fist half but had very little to do otherwise. Beaten by a penalty down the middle.

George Williams - 7

Nullified Northampton's threat on the wing and was equally composed when shifted into the back three.

Jack Baldwin - 5

Was having a very good game, but got caught under a long ball and gave away a penalty, which often looked like Northampton's only credible route to goal.

Cian Harries - 7

Chucked his body on the line and won crucial headers.

Luke Leahy - 7

Notched his 10th of the season with a predatory finish, slamming home the rebound from his own header. Good performance.

Pablo Martinez - 5

Started shakily and got the riot act from the touchline after giving it away three times in close succession early doors. Not his best performance.

Ed Upson - 7

Battled hard in midfield and was so unlucky to see a brilliant 25-yard effort rebound off the crossbar, onto the keeper and then away to safety.

Luke McCormick - 6

Buzzed around but didn't really get hold of a game that often saw the ball sail over his head in both directions.

Zain Westbrooke - 5

Provided the corner for Leahy's goal, improving his quality from dead balls after a poor showing against Doncaster, but he lacked precision in open play. Rovers did miss his creativity late on, though.

Brandon Hanlan - 6

Ran his heart out. Gave the Northampton defenders a torrid time and played Ayunga in behind – his strike partner should have found the net. But again, this was a game that saw Hanlan enjoy few moments in front of goal.

Jonah Ayunga - 5

Like Hanlan, he gave the Cobblers defence a rough time, but he needed to take his chance quicker when played in clear on goal. Pondered what to do and afforded Michael Harriman time to make a block. Worked very hard, but Rovers needed the ball to stick to him a bit more often.

Subs

Josh Hare (for Westbrooke on 71') - 6

Did well enough defensively.

James Daly (for Hanlan on 84') - N/A

Not used: Joe Day, Mark Little, David Tutonda, Zain Walker, Erhun Oztumer.
