Bristol Rovers fans bemoan inevitability of poor FA Cup performance in Bromley draw

Bristol Rovers fans were left with mixed feelings after their side's FA Cup draw with Bromley.

The Gas' woeful FA Cup record in recent years saw another poor performance as they struggled to break down their opponents, who sit top of the National League.

Yet Luke Leahy's 77th-minute goal looked like it would be enough for Rovers to go through until Chris Bush capitalised on an error from Anssi Jaakkola six minutes later to equalise.

Following the Gas' recent record against lower-ranked teams in the cup, some fans bemoaned the inevitability of the poor display, but others were pleased to force a replay after such a performance.

Average Joe: What are you doing, Rovers? You know it's traditional to go out in the first round of the FA Cup to non-league opposition.

Weeksy: Nothing much to say really, it was dreadful today.

Alistair Burns: Nigel Farage, David Bowie, Napoleon III, William Pitt The Elder your boys took a hell of a drawing, a hell of a drawing.

Michael Willett: To be honest, that went exactly as I thought it might. It was poor, we struggled and were up against a team who were playing their cup final. Too easy to say they are non-league so we should beat them. This had upset written all over it. As it goes, we’re still there.

LB: Poor performance today. No sense of intensity or drive to win from Rovers. Bromley came for a draw and got a draw so fair play to them. Fans quality too despite having one song. Rovers must improve, our near strongest team should not struggle against this kind of opposition.

Ben Hartnell: Disappointing display. Credit to Bromley, fully deserved to get the replay. On the plus side at least we are in the hat for the next round and good to see JCH back on the pitch. Don't think there were any other pluses.

Adam Fox: Avoided our annual FA Cup home defeat to a non-league team.
