Bristol passengers "had to get off bus" after fallen scaffolding blocked route amid storm chaos

Bus passengers on a busy route in Bristol had to get off and walk this morning after fallen scaffolding blocked the road.

Footage taken by a passenger of the number 43 bus, travelling from Kingswood to the city centre, shows the aftermath of the chaos caused by Storm Arwen overnight.

Metal scaffolding had fallen from a building onto Clouds Hill Road, St George, blocking the route of the bus heading for town at around 5.20am.

Ahmad Dishad, a passenger on the bus, said: "The place is Cloud Hills Road just before you get to St George Park. The time was 5:21am.

"I was in Bus 43 from Kingswood to City Center and we all had to get off as the bus couldn't go through obviously."

A video taken at the scene shows passengers having to walk around the fallen scaffolding after they were told they had to get off.
