Brighton handed huge boost for Arsenal clash as FIVE set to return

Brighton have been handed a huge selection boost ahead of facing Arsenal.

Manager Fabian Hurzeler has confirmed that as many as five first-team players could return against the Premier League leaders.

The Seagulls will have captain Lewis Dunk and midfielder Diego Gomez back after both players served a suspension, and Hurzeler was keen to emphasise just how important Dunk, in particular, is to the team.

Hurzelere told reporters: "He's my captain, he's my skipper. We know his value. Although he had a tough start, he really fought himself back into the season. He had some great performances."

Danny Welbeck, who has been in good form this season with seven league goals in 11 starts, missed the 0-0 draw with Sunderland as he was dealing with a back issue, but Hurzeler insists he will return against his former club.

"Danny Welbeck will train today, so he will be back", the German said.

The Seagulls boss also revealed right-back Mats Wieffer could potentially be available, adding: "Mats Wieffer is okay so we have to wait day-to-day and follow the procedure. He looks quite positive, quite well, so will possibly be available."

Brighton have been in poor form, and are winless in their last four games. Their run doesn't get any easier either as they face Arsenal, Manchester City and Manchester United in three of their next five games in all competitions.

The return of some key injured players to training will be welcome news for fans, and the ill Jan Paul van Hecke who was also unavailable against Sunderland should be back for the game against the Gunners.

Hurzeler said: "JP [Jan Paul van Hecke] will train tomorrow, so he should be back."
