BRIEF: Wrigley videoboard, bleacher debuts remain on schedule

Feb. 24--MESA, Ariz. -- Despite brutally cold weather, the construction of the Wrigley Field videoboard and the left field bleachers remain on their latest schedules.

The videoboard is expected to be fully installed and ready for the Cubs' April 5 opener against the St. Louis Cardinals, said Julian Green, the Cubs' vice president of communications and community affairs.

The left field bleachers, which were torn down and reconstructed to allow for more seating and more options for fans, are scheduled to re-open on May 11, Green added.

Early weather delays and lengthy work on a water main behind right field resulted in the team annoucing Jan. 17 that the completion date would be pushed back from its original opening night target date.
