May 29--A woman died after she and her boyfriend were hit by a car early Sunday as they fled an armed robbery near Lake Shore Drive, police said.
Pamela Johnson, 32, was near Ohio Street and Lake Shore Drive about 1:40 a.m. when a group tried to rob her and her 43-year-old boyfriend, according to police and family. At least one person in the group showed a firearm, police said.
The two ran across Lake Shore Drive and were hit by a white pickup truck in the southbound lanes, police said.
Both were taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital. Johnson died there, and the man was listed as stable, police said.
Police were investigating.
