Woman who died on Lower Wacker was mother of 3: 'Her kids were her life'

June 15--A woman who died after falling over a railing onto Lower Wacker Drive has been identified as a young mother of three whose "kids were her life."

Generra Lee, 25, was leaning over the railing on Upper Wacker Drive when she fell onto the pavement below in the 400 block of East Lower Wacker Drive around 3:25 a.m. Sunday, police said.

Relatives said Lee was out with friends when their rented bus stopped for a break and she got out.

"I'm shocked. It still hasn't registered," said Lee's aunt, Sonya Lee.

The aunt said Lee worked at a catering business to support her three children. "She loved her kids," Lee said. "She didn't breathe without her kids. Her kids were her life."

Kyerra Hollings, a former co-worker, said by email that Lee was a "great mother, sister, coworker, daughter. ... You can ask numerous people, you'll get the same results. She was one of those people that was just really amazing, and when she believed in something she stood by it.

"It just saddens me," Hollings added. "A young mother who left a big impact on everyone isn't here anymore."

Police said they believed the death was an accident and have opened a death investigation.
