BRIEF: Watch R. Kelly sing national anthem, sink 3-point shot at Nets game

Nov. 18--Chicago singer R. Kelly took some liberties with the national anthem and sunk a three-point shot while wearing sunglasses and chomping on a cigar Tuesday before the Brooklyn Nets game in New York.

Kelly, born Robert Sylvester Kelly, wore a tan turtleneck and a plaid blazer for his three-point shot before the Nets game against the Atlanta Hawks.

"Hey, that's the one y'all send YouTube," Kelly joked afterward. Kelly, 48, played basketball while attending Kenwood Academy on the South Side and later signed with the Atlantic City Seagulls of the United States Basketball League.

He also sang "The Star-Spangled Banner" before Tuesday's game, making slight changes to the lyrics.

Kelly's album "The Buffet" is scheduled to drop Dec. 11. He recently did a lengthy interview with New York magazine that explored the history of sexual allegations against him.

When asked if he's sexually attracted to young girls, Kelly responded, "That's a rumor that comes from the Earth, like all rumors," he said adding, "No. It's not true. I love women, period. If I wasn't a celebrity, people wouldn't be saying these things about me."

A Cook County jury acquitted him of child pornography charges in 2008.
