BRIEF: 'Veep' star from Chicago area to guest star on 'Brooklyn Nine-Nine'

Oct. 29--"Veep" star Matt Walsh, who grew up in Darien, will guest star on "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" next month, Entertainment Weekly reported Thursday.

Walsh, an alumnus of Hinsdale South High School and Northern Illinois University, confirmed on Twitter that he will reprise his first-season role of Det. Lohank in the Nov. 8 episode. Lohank, who works weekends, has a penchant for shaving at his co-worker's desk and attracting personal problems.

Walsh, 51, co-founded the Upright Citizens Brigade improv troupe. He will appear in next year's "Ghostbusters" movie. Season 5 of "Veep," in which Walsh plays press aide Mike McLintock, is expected to return in the spring.

"Brooklyn Nine-Nine" airs Sundays on Fox at 7:30 p.m.
