BRIEF: USC's Toa Lobendahn will start at left tackle against Washington State

Oct. 29--USC freshman Toa Lobendahn is expected to start at left tackle for the first time Saturday against Washington State.

Lobendahn, who has started every game at left guard, on Wednesday continued to work with the first-team offense at tackle in place of injured Chad Wheeler.

Coaches had used Tuesday's practice to evaluate whether Lobendahn would play at left tackle ahead of senior Aundrey Walker, who has 18 career starts.

Redshirt freshman Khaliel Rodgers appears on track to start at left guard. Freshman Damien Mama did not practice Wednesday after aggravating a right knee injury Tuesday.

So the starting line for the Trojans on Saturday will probably include junior Max Tuerk at center, freshman Viane Talamaivao and Rodgers at guard, and Lobendahn and third-year sophomore Zach Banner at right tackle.

Washington State is 2-6 overall and 1-4 in the Pac-12.
