BRIEF: Two dead in possible murder-suicide in Beverly Hills

Feb. 26--A possible murder-suicide in Beverly Hills has left a man and a woman dead, police said Wednesday.

About 4:25 p.m., a witness told police there was a dead man and woman in the 300 block of South Elm Drive, Beverly Hills police said.

According to police Sgt. Max Subin, the scene was at a multi-unit residential building. Police did not identify the dead or provide further details.

Police said the block will remain closed for a few hours as they investigate.

Since 2000, there have been 13 previous homicides in Beverly Hills, according to The Times' Homicide Report. The most recent of those was in October 2011.

Times staff writer Matt Hamilton contributed to this report.
