BRIEF: Police warn of armed robberies on Far North Side

June 22--Police are warning North Side residents after two armed robberies within the past month on the same block in West Rogers Park.

The robberies happened in the 6600 block of North Campbell Avenue, police said in a community alert. The first robbery happened about 1:35 a.m. May 30, and the second happened about 12:30 a.m. June 14, police said.

In both robberies, a group of three people approached victims walking on the block, pulled out black handguns and demanded they turn over everything they had, police said.

Detailed descriptions of the robbers was not available for the first robbery, but police said one of the men from the second robbery was wearing a white shirt and black shorts at the time. He was described as in his 20s, black, about 5-foot-10 and 180 pounds.

The second man was described as between 20 and 22 years old. He was black, about 6 feet tall, 150 pounds, wearing a black and white baseball cap, a blue shirt and blue shorts, police said. The third man was described as black, in his 20s, 5-foot-11, 150 pounds, wearing a white t-shirt and blue jeans, according got the alert.
