BRIEF: Police pull man's body from Lake Michigan east of Lincoln Park Zoo

July 19--A man's body was pulled from Lake Michigan early Sunday morning east of Lincoln Park Zoo, police said.

The Chicago Police Marine Unit was called about 7:15 a.m. to an area offshore at about 2100 North Lake Shore Drive because someone reported a body in the water, said Officer Ana Pacheco, a police spokeswoman.

Officers were able to locate the man's body and bring it out of the water, she said.

The man was believed to be in his 40s, but he had not yet been identified, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office.

Area North detectives were conducting a death investigation.

Police News Affairs was releasing no further information about the incident.
