BRIEF: Man fatally stabs woman, tells cops she stabbed herself: prosecutors

April 05--A 58-year-old man stabbed a 28-year-old woman during a domestic dispute at their home late Wednesday, then called police to say she'd stabbed herself, prosecutors said.

Howard Hunt, 58, of the 6800 block of South Jeffery Boulevard in the city's Jackson Park Highlands neighborhood, was charged with murder after allegedly stabbing Joyce Terrell in the chest with a steak knife.

Officers found the woman stabbed in the chest inside the apartment about 11:55 p.m. Wednesday, police said.

Terrell was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where she was pronounced dead about 12:51 a.m., according to the Cook County medical examiner's office. Officials at the medical examiner's office said Terrell lived in the building where she was fatally stabbed.

Hunt has been arrested in four previous domestic incidents involving Terrell, prosecutors said Saturday.

Hunt was ordered held without bond.
