BRIEF: Phil Ponce sells Ravenswood home; Mayor Emanuel getting new neighbors

Aug. 22--WTTW-Ch. 11 "Chicago Tonight" host Phil Ponce and his wife, Ann, on Thursday sold their four-bedroom vintage Victorian-style house in the Ravenswood neighborhood for $1.0425 million.

Located just two doors south of Mayor Rahm Emanuel's house, Ponce's now-former home dates to 1886 and has been restored. Features include 3 1/2 baths, a rec room on the lower level, woodwork, a master suite on the third floor, and a large kitchen with a butler's pantry, white quartz countertops, double ovens and a Viking cooktop. Outside on the 165-foot-deep lot are a pergola, professionally designed gardens and a Chicago brick paver patio.

Ponce bought the home for $580,000 in 1999 and listed it June 29 for $1.05 million.

Ponce could not be reached for comment. However, he previously declined to comment to Elite Street on why he was selling or where he was moving. Public records do not yet list the buyer.

Alice Berger of @properties has the listing.
