BRIEF: Person shot in Elgin

Nov. 27--Police in suburban Elgin are investigating a shooting that occurred Thanksgiving evening, according to a news release.

Officers responding to the 800 block of East Chicago Street about 8 p.m. found a male who had been shot. The victim, whose age was not immediately available, went to Presence St. Joseph Hospital. His wounds were not believed to be life-threatening.

Anyone with information on the shooting is encouraged to contact the Elgin police Gang Crimes Unit at 847-289-2695. Anonymous tips can be left at 847-695-4195.
