BRIEF: Pedestrian dies after being struck by Metra train in Hanover Park, officials say

April 12--A 19-year-old man died Tuesday morning after being struck by a Metra train in Hanover Park, authorities said.

The man was struck about 10 a.m. by inbound train 2230 on the Milwaukee District/West Line, Metra said. Further information about the incident was not available, according to Metra spokeswoman Meg Reile. An autopsy is pending, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office.

The train was due to arrive at Chicago's Union Station at 11:03 a.m. Passengers were removed from the train and placed on another inbound train.

Other commuter trains on the line, both inbound and outbound, experienced delays, but traffic was back to normal by early afternoon, Reile said.
