March 06--What's better than being discovered by one of hip-hop's most prolific rhymers? Possibly having that MC take you on a nationwide tour with him. Talib Kweli is bringing NIKO IS along for "The People's Champion" Tour, making a stop at Metro March 8.
Kweli has spit rhymes of intellect and street knowledge for nearly 20 years, as a member of the duo Black Star (with Yasiin Bey, aka Mos Def), partnering with music producer DJ Hi-Tek for the Reflection Eternal project and as a solo artist.
And now he's sharing the mic with one of the brightest new artists. NIKO IS will make you think, party and shake your head in approval when you hear songs from "Cherry Beamer Dreaming" to "Vamoose."
The verses flowing at "People's Champion" will also be at the highest level with revolutionary rapper and activist Immortal Technique performing.
