Dec. 09--The New Colony, the oddball theater company that produces original, often humorous ensemble works, announced its 2015 season on Tuesday. This will be the company's first year in residence at The Den Theatre in Wicker Park.
The season of three new shows begins with the previously announced "Plastic Revolution" (Jan. 16 -- Feb. 22), a musical with a book by Will Cavedo and Andrew Hobgood and a score by Julie Nichols. Hobgood also contributes the lyrics.
Evan Linder will direct the production, which will feature Joshua R. Bartlett, Daeshawna Cook, Nikki Klix, Elise Mayfield, Sasha Smith, Danny Taylor and Cassie Thompson in the cast.
Then in the summer comes "Stanley In The Name of Love" by Margaret Svetlove. The company describes it as an "absurdist gay porn dance pop musical."
The season ends with "The Terrible" by Morgan McNaught, and directed by Jesse Roth. In McNaught's play, a performance artist, having died, wakes up in a room with two other recently deceased persons.
The New Colony performs at The Den Theatre, 1333 N. Milwaukee Ave.
