I laid out three options -- near and far -- Wednesday morning on WLS-Channel 7's "Windy City Live."
Put on some comfortable shoes and head for Lake Geneva, Wis., to do some (better yet, all) of the nearly 23-mile shore path hugging Geneva Lake. The waterfront mansions' meticulously cared for gardens are just starting to bloom. And Grand Geneva Resort is hosting a new wine festival slated for April 8-10.
Want to venture a little farther from home? Head for Louisville, Ky., especially if you're a bourbon fan.
If it's a beach you're craving, pack up the family and book a flight to Panama City Beach, Fla. This Panhandle town has taken steps to clean up its image and make the destination more family friendly, less spring break crazy.
