BRIEF: Man stabbed twice in River North

May 24--A 47-year-old man was stabbed near a McDonald's in River North during an argument with another man, police said.

The 47-year-old was in an alley in the 600 block of North Clark Street when an unknown man stabbed him twice in the back around 5:25 a.m., said Officer Stacey Cooper, a Chicago police spokeswoman.

Police said both men are homeless.

The attacker fled, and the victim came inside the nearby McDonald's for help, Cooper said.

The 47-year-old was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where his condition stabilized.
