Sept. 06--A 29-year-old man has died from gunshot wounds suffered when he was robbed in the Fernwood neighborhood last month, authorities said.
Antwan D. McCray was pronounced dead at 4:09 p.m. Friday at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office. He died from complications from a gunshot wound to the torso, the office found following an autopsy Saturday. McCray was shot Aug. 21 in the 10200 block of South Lowe Avenue, authorities said.
About 10:07 p.m. Aug. 21, a 29-year-old man was critically wounded when he was shot in the chest during a robbery. The man was shot in an alley in the 10200 block of South Lowe Avenue, police said.
The man was in the alley when an attacker approached him and announced a robbery at gunpoint. The attacker robbed the man and fired gunshots, police said.
McCray, of the 400 block of West 100th Street, was taken in critical condition to Christ Medical Center.
No one was in custody.
