Nov. 14--A 28-year-old man was charged Saturday morning with wounding the mother of his children in a domestic-related shooting in October on the Far South Side.
Tarell Smith, of the 12000 block of South Perry Avenue, was charged with aggravated domestic battery, aggravated battery with a firearm and home invasion with discharge of a firearm, police said.
The charges stem from an Oct. 29 incident at his address in the West Pullman neighborhood. Police said that shortly after 3 a.m. that day, Smith and the mother of his children were involved in a domestic-related altercation when he shot her with a handgun.
The victim, age 23, suffered a wound to her arm and was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn where her condition was stabilized, police said.
Smith was scheduled to appear Saturday afternoon at a bail hearing.
