BRIEF: L.A. Unified school bus collides with car in Watts; two adults in critical condition

March 17--Two people were sent to the hospital and listed in critical condition Thursday morning after their car collided with a Los Angeles Unified school bus in Watts, authorities said.

The two vehicles crashed near East 103rd Street and Compton Avenue, a short distance away from Compton Avenue Elementary School and Markham Middle School, Los Angeles Fire Department spokeswoman Margaret Stewart said.

There were seven students on the bus at the time of the crash, and none was injured, LAUSD officials said. They were headed to a magnet school program at White Middle School in Carson when the crash occurred, officials said. The children continued on their way to school.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
