BRIEF: Jonathan Herrera starts in place of Addison Russell vs. Pirates

April 29--Jonathan Herrera will start at second base as the Chicago Cubs try to complete a threee-game series against the Pittsburgh Pirates at Wrigley Field.

The task won't be easy as the Cubs face hard-throwing Gerrit Cole, who is 3-0 with a 2.19 ERA.

Herrera will start in place of rookie Addison Russell, who has hit safely in his past three games.

Meanwhile, left-hander Tsuyoshi Wada threw a bullpen session at Wrigley Field. Wada currently is on a minor league rehabilitation assignment with Triple-A Iowa and has made three starts. Wada was tagged for six earned runs on 12 hits in five innings in his last start against Colorado Springs.

Wada is recovering from a mild left groin strain.

Here's the Cubs' lineup:

Fowler cf

Soler rf

Rizzo 1b

Bryant 3b

Montero c

Castro ss

Coghlan lf

Hendricks p

Herrera 2b
