Dec. 04--Illinois is creating a "fan council" in hopes of receiving feedback and boosting ticket sales.
Members of the Illini Fan Council must be season-ticket holders in at least one sport and participate in four meetings annually. The members will run for one-year terms, from February 2015 to December 2016.
"This is the first in a series of new initiatives that we will be rolling out over the next few months and we look forward to engaging our most passionate Illini season-ticket holders and hearing their feedback,"
athletic director Mike Thomas said in a statement.
Illinois football attendance this season averaged less than 42,000 fans per game and ranked third from last in the Big Ten.
