BRIEF: Former Padre Yonder Alonso lists his Miami Beach penthouse for $3 million

Dec. 23--Professional baseball player Yonder Alonso, who was dealt by the San Diego Padres to the Oakland Athletics earlier this month, has put a penthouse condominium in Miami Beach on the market for $2.975 million.

Recently renovated, the two-bedroom unit at the MEi Condominium building features open-plan interiors, marble floors and two private terraces. Floor-to-ceiling walls of windows take in views of the city, Atlantic Ocean and Intracoastal Waterway.

The 1,556 square feet of whitewashed interiors includes a living room, an eat-in kitchen, two bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms.

Concierge, beach and spa services as well as access to a gym and swimming pool are among the building's amenities.

Alonso, a first baseman, hit .282 with five home runs in an injury-shortened campaign with San Diego last year. The 28-year-old played six seasons for the Padres and Cincinnati Reds.

He bought the condo two years ago for $1.4 million.

Kenyatta Bell of One Sotheby's International Realty has the listing.
