BRIEF: Discounted Taste of the Nation tickets on sale

July 27--Tickets for Chicago's annual Taste of the Nation, a celebrity-chef-studded gala that's one of the city's biggest charity events, are now on sale.

And if you act fast, you can grab tickets at a 20 percent discount.

Monday and Tuesday, you'll get 20 percent off your purchase by using the promo code CHIFAM20. General admission tickets are $125, $35 ages 5-17; VIP tickets are $200 and $75, respectively.

Proceeds from the event benefit No Kid Hungry's work to end childhood hunger.

Among the participating chefs in this gala, which will take place Oct. 11 at Navy Pier, are Johnny Anderes (the Kitchen), Christine Cikowski and Josh Kulp (Honey Butter Fried Chicken), Kevin Cuddihee (Two), Michael Sheerin (Embeya), Patrick Sheerin (Trenchermen), and Jared Wentworth and Matt Kerney (Longman Eagle). Event chairs are Elissa Narow (Vie, Perennial Virant), Debbi Peek (Southern Wine Spirits), Jennifer Paulson (US Foods) and Jared Van Camp (Nellcote, Owen Alchemy).
