BRIEF: Decomposed body found in Roseland home on Far South Side

April 10--A decomposed body was discovered Friday morning inside a residence on the Far South Side in the city's Roseland neighborhood.

Officers were alerted about 11:15 p.m. to a home near 92nd Street and Dunbar Avenue, said Chicago Police Department News Affairs Officer Jose Estrada.

The decomposed body was found inside, but there was no immediate information available about the person's gender, Estrada said.

Earlier reports indicated the body was discovered during a rehabbing project, but that has not been confirmed by police.

Area South detectives have opened a death investigation.

The Cook County medical examiner's office was notified.
