March 18--GLENDALE, Ariz. -- Cubs right-hander Dallas Beeler has been relegated to bullpen sessions this spring and wasn't sure when he would pitch in an exhibition game.
"I'm just getting the arm back in shape and building the strength back up," Beeler said Wednesday. "It's going well."
Beeler, 25, who was 9-6 with a 3.40 ERA in 20 starts at Triple-A Iowa and had an 0-2 record and 3.27 ERA ERA in two major league starts in 2014, said he has been sidelined with right shoulder soreness, "but it's 10 times better now."
"We're taking it slow," Beeler said. "There's no rush. It's spring training."
