Feb. 22--A Megabus bound from Chicago to Minneapolis caught fire near Lake Forest Hospital on Sunday afternoon, but no injuries were reported, officials said.
The fire was reported around 12:15 p.m. as the bus was southbound on Route 41 near Route 176 and the entrance to the hospital, according to the Lake Forest Fire Department.
The driver and the 40 passengers managed to escape from the bus, which sustained "extensive fire damage," the department said in a release.
Southbound Route 41 near Gage Lane was closed to traffic from about 12:30 to 1:45 p.m.
The cause of the fire was under investigation, authorities said.
