BRIEF: Clippers given 6/1 odds to win Western Conference, according to betting website

Oct. 01--The Clippers were given 6/1 odds to win the Western Conference, according to betting website Bovada.

The site gave three teams higher odds than the Clippers to win the West -- the San Antonio Spurs (2/1), the Golden State Warriors (3/1) and the Oklahoma City Thunder (9/2).

The Clippers nearly reached the Western Conference Finals for the first time in their 46-year existence last season, before losing three games in a row to become only the ninth team in NBA history to blow a 3-1 series lead.

The Clippers eliminated the Spurs from the first round of the playoffs last season in a hard fought, intense seven-game series. They then fell to the Houston Rockets in what was considered an epic collapse.
