BRIEF: Casting announced for 'The Producers' at Mercury

March 09--Mercury Theater Chicago has announced casting for its springtime production of "The Producers."

Bill Larkin and Matt Crowle will star as Max Bialystock and Leo Bloom, respectively, with Allison Sill as Ulla. The cast also features Harter Clingman as Franz Liebkind, Jason Richards as Roger De Bris and Sawyer Smith as Carmen Ghia. The ensemble includes Joe Capstick, Brian Elliott, Katie Hunter, John Marshall Jr., Leah Morrow, Melissa Reinertson, Steven Spanopoulos, Ryan Stajmiger, Stephanie Wohar and Tyler Austin Wright. L. Walter Stearns will direct, with music direction by Eugene Dizon and choreography by Brigitte Ditmars.

"The Producers," Mel Brooks' comedy about the most successful flop in Broadway history, opens April 14 at Mercury Theater Chicago, 3745 N. Southport Ave.
