BRIEF: Cappie Pondexter wins East's Player of the Week

July 14--When Cappie Pondexter and Maya Moore face each other for the second time in a week on Friday in Minneapolis, they'll each carry an added honor into the rematch: WNBA Player of the Week.

The Sky's Pondexter was named the Eastern Conference's top player and the Lynx's Moore won in the West. Pondexter had 24 points, four rebounds, four assists and two steals to help the Sky beat the Lynx 90-83 on Friday. Moore led all scorers with 29 points in that game, and added 10 rebounds, six assists and two steals.

Moore followed that up with 20 points, nine rebounds and three assists in a 66-49 victory over San Antonio. Pondexter had a season-high 29 points to go along with seven assists, three rebounds and a steal during the Sky's 96-76 win against the Connecticut Sun on Sunday.

The Sky have now claimed four of the five Eastern Conference Player of the Week awards, the first three bestowed on MVP candidate Elena Delle Donne. Indiana's Tamika Catchings earned the honor in Week 4.
