BRIEF: Canadian Olympic chief steps down after sexual harassment allegation

Oct. 01--The head of Olympic sports in Canada has stepped down while being investigated for the alleged sexual harassment of a co-worker.

Marcel Aubut told the Associated Press that he requested to leave his job as president of the Canadian Olympic Committee and would cooperate with investigators.

Last week the committee reportedly received a complaint about the 67-year-old Aubut making inappropriate comments to a colleague.

A member of Canada's Sports Hall of Fame, Aubut served as chief executive of the Quebec Nordiques before the NHL team moved to Colorado in 1995.

Authorities expect to conclude their investigation later this month.
