BRIEF: Body of student who disappeared on surfing trip found in Mexico

Jan. 23--The body of a 20-year-old college student who disappeared on a surfing trip to Baja California has been located.

The body of Scott Flippinger of San Diego was found on the beach below the blufftop location at Rosarito Beach where he and his friends were camping during their trip, according to KSWB-TV in San Diego.

His friends said that Flippinger apparently got up about 3 a.m. Wednesday and may have fallen from the cliff in the darkness. He was an anthropology student at Cal State San Marcos.

Flippinger's body was reportedly spotted by his father, Eric, a retired Marine Corps pilot, who was searching from an aircraft.
