Sept. 19--The Chicago Bears elevated defensive lineman Brandon Dunn from the practice squad Saturday and waived defensive back Demontre Hurst.
Dunn's promotion ensures the Bears at least five active linemen in Sunday's game against the Cardinals. Ego Ferguson missed practice Friday with a knee injury he suffered in Week 1 and is questionable for the game.
The Bears expect to play more of their 3-4 base package against the Cardinals than the three snaps they used it for against the Packers. The defensive line rotation must be a bit deeper as a result.
Dunn played three games with the Bears in 2014 after spending a majority of the season on the practice squad. He spent training camp and the preseason this year with the club.
Hurst played in 16 games with two starts over the last two seasons. He had 36 defensive tackles, one interception, one forced fumble and nine special teams tackles.
