BRIEF: Auditorium Theatre cancels Les Grands Ballets' 'Leonce and Lena'

Jan. 06--The planned performances of Les Grands Ballets' "Leonce and Lena" at the Auditorium Theatre has been canceled, the theater announced Wednesday.

"Leonce and Lena," scheduled for an April 2016 run, has been removed from the Auditorium's slate due to a lack of ticket sales and sponsorship support.

The Auditorium Theatre also attributed the cancellation to a current fundraising campaign to raise $1 million to ensure that the theater is in compliance with the City of Chicago's fire ordinance by the end of 2016.

Ticket holders will receive a full refund or can apply the cost of their tickets to any performance in the Auditorium Theatre's 2015-16 season.
