Bridgerton's Adjoa Andoh tips 'beautiful' co-star Regé-Jean Page as next Bond

Bridgerton's Adjoa Andoh has thrown her weight behind Regé-Jean Page to be the next James Bond.

Daniel Craig is due to hang up his tux after the franchise's much-delayed latest instalment, No Time To Die, with Regé's name thrown into the hat for his replacement.

Regé turned heads as the Duke of Hastings in Netflix's hit Bridgerton across from Adjoa, Phoebe Dynevor and Julie Andrews.

And fans reckon he's a solid bet for the Martini-slurping, smooth-talking, target-hitting super spy.

Adjoa appeared on today's Good Morning Britain, telling Kate Garraway and Ben Shepherd that she's behind Regé.

I think the thing with Regé is, he is beautiful - don't tell him I said that - he is very smart, he is a fantastically funny sharp actor so he could take on any role you give him really," she said.

"Annoyingly, he could. So yes he would be a marvellous James Bond if they ever decided to go that way, no doubt at all."

Regé recently dodged questions about whether MGM have approached him for the role, insisting he's "not allowed to say."

Chatting to Graham Norton, he shared: "Bridgerton is the only 'B'word I am allowed to say – I am not going to talk about the other 'B words!"

And he told Jimmy Fallon: "If you're a Brit and you do something of any regard that people renown well, people are going to start saying the 'B' word."

Other names tipped for Bond include Idris Elba, Tom Hardy and Tom Hiddleston, with Spider-Man actor Tom Holland even saying he'd be up for it.

Meanwhile, Bridgerton has been renewed for a second series over at Netflix after it became the streaming platform's biggest hit to date, outstripping The Witcher starring Henry Cavill - whose name has also been floated for Bond.
