Bride left furious as hairdresser turns up late on wedding day and charges extra

A bride was left infuriated after a hairdresser turned up late on the morning of her wedding day and then charged her extra. The furious bride says she felt completely ripped off when the hairdresser unexpectantly added more to the bill.

She was initially quoted £90 ($100) when she booked a salon for wedding hair and make-up for herself and her bridesmaids, the Mirror reports. But plenty of time before the big day she she rang up the salon and asked if she could add some additional people to the appointment.

The business was happy to accept the extra people, and it was agreed they would turn up at 6 am rather than 7 am to fit make sure they could fit in the extra people.

However, when the wedding came around, the bride was left feeling stressed as none of the hairdressers even turned up until 7 am, one hour later than arranged. To make matters worse, only one hairdresser showed up at first, with the other turning up half an hour later.

Taking to Reddit to vent, the seething bride - who goes by the username u/Myshellel - "I left completely rushed and late. When I went to pay. They charged me £103 ($115) a head.

"When I questioned this she said that the price was raised because of the extra heads, which would have been fine, but she never once told me that when we discussed adding on people. She just assumed I would know this? Anyway, the tip I had planned ended up covering the extra cost almost to the dollar, so they ended up with no tip. I still felt completely ripped off and it angers me to this day!"

One fellow Reddit user commented: "Whatever happened to bulk discounts, never mind disclosing price increases to the customer BEFORE a transaction and not after? I'm glad the 'tip' money was enough to cover the 'hairy' surprise that was sprung on you!"

Another sympathised: "The whole wedding industry is insane. Venders hear the W word and triple the price of everything. Such a scam."
