Brendan Rodgers would walk away from Leicester for Arsenal, claims Andy Gray

Brendan Rodgers would walk out of Leicester to join Arsenal - just like he did to Celtic, reckons Andy Gray.

Foxes manager Rodgers has been heavily linked with the vacant Gunners job after Unai Emery was sacked on Friday morning - having overseen a run of seven matches without a win.

The Northern Irishman has transformed Leicester into title contenders with the Foxes third in the Premier League.

He moved to the King Power Stadium in February, after dumping Celtic as they looked on the brink of the Scottish Premiership crown - which would have been his third in three seasons in the division, having won the triple treble in 2017/18.

And pundit Gray thinks that Rodgers would do the same to Leicester to move to a "bigger club."

Gray said on BeIN Sports: "He left Celtic three months before they were about to complete a treble treble and thought nothing of that.

"Ron Atkinson said it once to me when I was his assistant: 'if you ever get to go into management, Andy, if you get a chance to better yourself, if a bigger club comes in for you, take it'.

"It doesn't matter where Leicester are now - are Arsenal a bigger club than Leicester? Yes.

"So I think if Arsenal really wanted Brendan Rodgers , and I'm not saying they do, but if they really wanted Brendan Rodgers I think it would be a massive snub for him to turn it down.

"Sometimes these jobs only come up once.

A club like Arsenal - it's a giant of a club. Not just in British football but in world football.

"It's run brilliantly, it's classy, it's got a wonderful stadium and beautiful training ground.

"Everything is there for someone to take it on from Arsene (Wenger). They're just having the problem (Manchester) United had after Fergie: no-one could pick it up and run with it again.

"Arsenal have had that same problem since Arsene left."
